Ireland crash: Little boy among three killed in Co Tipperary

A little boy is among three people killed in a road crash in Ireland.

A car hit a wall in Cashel in Co Tipperary, Gardai said.

The adult male and female rear-seat passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

The body of the young boy was taken to Tipperary University Hospital in Clonmel.

The adult male driver and female front-seat passenger have also been taken to Tipperary University Hospital, where their condition is described as serious.

The road in the Windmill Knockbulloge area was closed to traffic overnight as emergency services remained at the scene.

Gardai appealed for any witnesses or anyone with camera footage to contact the investigation team.

It comes days after four people were killed in a crash in Clonmel, also in Co Tipperary.

Luke McSweeney, 24, his 18-year-old sister Grace McSweeney, Zoey Coffey and Nicole Murphy, both also 18, were killed after the car they were in struck a wall on Friday.

They were on their way to celebrate receiving the results of their Leaving Certificate exams.

Funerals for the four young people will be held later this week after thousands attended a vigil in Clonmel on Sunday.
